The general principles

The UNPAA accreditation system is based on a simple but very important belief which must be shared in principle by all those who adhere to it and are a part of it:

Self regulation is the only supporting and ruling principle of any association or guild of free enterprises that must and should govern themselves through a flexible and responsible system that represents them.

Accreditation as such has to do with honesty, best practice, quality, rigorous application, fairness, whilst a climate of trust has to reign between the Accrediting Agency and the Accredited Members.

The result of accreditation is a public statement from both partners involved: the Accrediting Agency’s one which  confirms that the Association or Guild adheres to the standards that were fixed, whilst the Association or Guild’s  one confirms the willingness to continue  in its commitment to UNPAA and to its chosen public.

The Accreditation process is carried out and vettedby an Accrediting Commission that shall in principle uphold thefollowing beliefs:

-        Accreditation is a voluntary procedure
-        Accreditation needs to be earned
-        Accreditation is a team effort
-      Accreditation requires a fair procedure to be applied to all

-        Accreditation is about quality

-        Accreditation is about integrity

UNPAA accreditation will in no way impede the possible accreditations to be granted to the Member Associations and Guilds by the respective Governments and official bodies.  Matter of fact it will help these bodies gain more expertise and knowledge through expert advice.
